UK University Applications — What UAE Students Need
UCAS is the universal UK application platform. All applications to all UK universities go through UCAS, and each applicant can apply to a maximum of five universities (except Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Science, which are capped at four). The new 2026 UCAS personal statement format (three sections) replaces the single-essay format used previously.

US University Applications — The Common App and Supplements
The US application process is the most essay-intensive of all university destinations. Beyond the 650-word Common App main essay, each university requires its own supplemental essays:
• Ivy League supplements: Harvard requires one essay of 150 words and 5 "additional information" activities; Princeton requires essays totalling approximately 750 words; Yale requires essays of 35-400 words across 5 prompts. An Ivy League application package can involve 3,000-5,000 words of original essays beyond the main Common App essay.
